Width Restricted
Where: On any road where the width of the roadway, bridge, tunnel, or structure ahead is limited, such as narrow bridges, underpasses, or construction zones.
Purpose: To warn that there is a restriction on the overall width of vehicles allowed beyond this point, as indicated in metres on the sign. This ensures that vehicles exceeding the specified width do not attempt to pass through a narrow section, which could cause damage, blockage, or an accident.
Action Required by Driver: Check your vehicles width, including mirrors, load, or attachments, before proceeding. Do not continue if your vehicle is wider than the width limit shown on the sign. Instead, find an alternate route suitable for your vehicles size. Reduce speed and proceed carefully if your vehicle fits within the permitted width, keeping to the centre of the lane to avoid contact with roadside obstacles.
